SycamorePlus FAQs

Why should I subscribe to SycamorePlus?

SycamorePlus subscribers receive full access to all the Sycamore films, including exclusive access to SycamorePlus titles in our new ‘Ways of Praying’ series. The subscription will also include forthcoming series like ‘How to Discover your Vocation’ and ‘Parenting and Family Life’ that will be launched later in the year. You can also request bespoke training for your group or diocese and participate in exclusive member forums that will help shape the future of Sycamore. Your subscription will help sustain the mission of Sycamore by keeping our core content free for all and enable us to develop new resources.

How do I access the SycamorePlus films after I have subscribed?

All the SycamorePlus films are available from the main Film page here. There is a special section for the SycamorePlus films, which currently includes the twelve new films in the Ways of Praying series.

Can I download the videos to show to my group if we don’t have reliable broadband?

Downloads are available for the core Sycamore films (Sessions 1–20) for SycamorePlus members and for those who have registered as Sycamore Friends. However, new SycamorePlus content—including Ways of Praying—is only available via streaming from our website.

How many people can access the new content via the community subscription?

A community subscription allows you to add six other leaders to your main account at no extra charge. These “sub-users” then have their own individual login to SycamorePlus, so that they can access the resources independently. This allows up to six leaders to run six different groups within the same parish or chaplaincy community at the same time. Sub-users must be from the same parish or chaplaincy, and these sub-user accounts must not be shared with others outside your local community. In this way, one community subscription allows you to multiple groups within the same community without extra costs.

What happens if my community is running more than six Sycamore groups, or there are more than six leaders?

There are two options:

(1) You can ask other leaders to take out their own individual subscriptions. This is very affordable, and the annual subscription works out at only £2.08 per month.

(2) Someone can take out a second community subscription, which will allow you to add another six leaders. Please note: if you do this, you will need to use a different email from the first community subscription.

What about individuals who join a SycamorePlus group? How do they have access?

Hopefull you will have many people joining your SycamorePlus groups as you use the new pathways and put on new courses within your parish or chaplaincy. These individual participants will view the SycamorePlus films during the groups sessions, led by a subscribed leader. For those participants who want to access the content between sessions, they will need to take out their own individual subscription at just £4 per month or £25 per year.

Who can access the new content via the school subscriptions?

A school subscription allows you to add eight to sixteen separate teachers or chaplains to your main account at no extra charge, depending on the subscription level you have chosen (Small, Medium or Large school). These “sub-users” then have their own individual login to SycamorePlus, so that they can access the resources independently. This allows you to run multiple groups within the same school, or for different classes to use the resources at the same time. Sub-users must be from the same school, and sub-user accounts cannot be set up within a different school, even if you are within the same Multi Academy Trust.

Can a Multi Academy Trust take out a single subscription for all its schools?

Not yet! Each individual school must take out its own SycamorePlus subscription. If there is enough demand from Multi Academy Trusts (MATs) in the future, then we will explore the possibility of creating special accounts for MATs. Please contact the team if you are interested in exploring this.

Is SycamorePlus replacing the original Sycamore content?

Not at all. The core Sycamore films (1–20) remain free and fully accessible to everyone. SycamorePlus offers the opportunity to access new films, training, and deeper engagement.

Can I switch between subscription plans (e.g. individual to community)?

Yes. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your subscription at any time. Just visit your account settings or contact our team for assistance.

How do I subscribe?

Simply visit our subscription page and choose the plan that suits you: individual, community, or school. Subscriptions auto-renew but can be cancelled at any time before.  If you have paid annually and cancel your subscription, your access to SycamorePlus will remain active for the remainder of the year.
