Mission Support Manager

About Us

Sycamore is a comprehensive programme about the Christian faith and its relevance for life today. It brings people together so they can share ideas, explore their beliefs, and think about questions that really matter.

The Sycamore films give an inspiring vision of Catholic Christianity. They involve some clear teaching and some thought-provoking testimonies. The discussion groups – in person or online – help people grow in friendship and build a sense of community. Faith comes alive. Lives are changed.

Our Vision

The Sycamore Vision: “Building community. Growing in faith. Reaching out in mission”

  1. We believe in the Church as a place of genuine Christian community, where people are united in their love for Jesus Christ and in friendship with each other.
  2. We believe in the importance of Christian formation, that helps people appreciate the beauty and truth of the Catholic faith and its relevance for life today, and leads them to find deeper meaning and purpose in their lives.
  3. We believe that all Christians are called to mission, to reach out to others in friendship, to share their faith in small or large ways, to build communities that are open and welcoming, and to witness to the love of God in Jesus Christ.

Our Mission

  1. We help Christian communities grow together in faith and reach out to others in mission. We work with parishes, schools, university chaplaincies, prisons and other organisations, providing them with the resources and training they need to grow together as missionary communities.
  2. We specialise in producing films, courses and training programmes for evangelisation, catechesis and faith formation. Our resources communicate the beauty and truth of the Catholic Christian faith and encourage discussion and friendship.
  3. Our resources are easy to access and free to use. Everything is available online, for individuals and for groups. Sycamore groups meet both remotely and in person, so that there are many different ways of connecting and meeting others. We rely on the generosity of friends, benefactors and voluntary subscribers for the work to continue.
  4. We help local leaders to grow in confidence, build community, and connect with other leaders locally and nationally. In this way Sycamore becomes a support network, a community of friendship, and a school of good practice.
